Sabina Haque on fire in 2014

We are pleased to share the following news for 2013 Tour participant Sabina Haque. Sabina has been awarded Oregon Arts Commission 2014 Individual Artist Fellowship which comes with a $3000 cash award. Thirteen Oregon artists selected from a pool of  more than 190 applicants  from 35 Oregon cities for the OAC’s 2014 Individual Artist   Fellowships.

She also been Awarded the Jordan Schnitzer Printmaking Residency at the Sitka Art Center taking place in October of this year.

Sabina will be working with Master Printer, Julia D’Amario to finished plates in editions of ten. The Gordon Gilkey Print Center at the Portland Art Museum and the Jordan Schnitzer Collection also receive my prints. Jordan Schnitzer, one of Portland’s most prominent print collectors, generously pledged his support for the project and has been funding it since its inception.

Lastly, she has been awarded $2000 PSU professional development grant to support the making of her animated film that will be screened in Portland, Houston and in Karachi, Pakistan at the end of this year.
