Lately I am painting in acrylic and collage just for the fun of it. I'm working with a local florist to capture their arrangements. While my aim is to accurately and creatively render these blooms, they often change dramatically, sometimes wilting and withering before I can finish the painting.
Thus, I am left with nothing but my memory of how they once flourished. I sometimes compare this process to "cheating death." The result, in my opinion, is a painting that many can live with and enjoy in a variety of settings.
