Jory Aronson
Light, color, and texture combine in macro photography images, using the playful and dynamic richness of the microcosm seen in small holistic fragments. This is the foundation of Jory’s abstract pieces. Interacting with the prints are injections of oil pastel, colored pencil, and/or colored ink. Visual compositions that the eye follows and the mind reads in individual ways, celebrate the intimate visual beauty of this world. From tree bark, stone, and driftwood, to urban graffiti, dumpster scratches, and peeling posters, Jory plays with tiny images that capture her eyes and emotions. By hand-coloring the photos, she strengthens the connection, creating a cryptic, veiled world of beauty and mystery.
