Mark Germann
Mark Germann has been experiencing the world through his photographic vision for over 50 years. The places where the fingerprint of humankind meet the natural world are where he finds most of his inspiration. He also believes everything is photo worthy and the process of making a print translates the world into a visual metaphor. His photographs are a celebration of light, chaos, the power of nature and the creations we bestow upon the land. Mentored by traditional B&W photographers working in the documentary format he was taught to "photograph what you love". He was educated at Mass College of Art, printed at Palm Press (clients included Brad Washburn, Aaron Siskind, Paul Ickovic, National Geographic and Doc Edgerton), sold professional equipment at E.P. Levines, and worked as a freelance photographer. Living in the city of Portland for the past three years has given him a better sense of community in both the neighborhood and the art scene.
