Rachel Austin
Rachel Austin is a Portland artist inspired by the quiet beauty of maps and natural forms in plants. Maps have a way of showing us where we have been, where we are and where we want to go. Much of her painting abstracts and simplifies what she sees around her through watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. Rachel has been a full time artist since 2006 when, after getting a degree in finance, she realized art was probably a better path for her. Rachel sells her work throughout the Northwest and recent projects include working with the Boston Children's Hospital and the new Ritz Carlton in Portland.
