Ryan Birkland
I'm am local Portland artist who has been creating for over 23 years. I primarily paint in reverse on old salvaged windows and frames. I paint colorful and dynamic images using oil, acrylic and spray paint. I focus primarily on still life images but also do paintings with more movement. While creating I reflect on my travels, people I have met, society, identity and our beautiful yet troubled city. I explore themes that include our relationships with people, technology, nature and ourselves.
