Growing up in a 200 year old farmhouse with an antique loving mama, it was inevitable that the nostalgia gene would grow strong within me. The cupboards of the house I live in now don't quite close. The worn wooden floorboards creak and slump. Every surface is covered by the knickitiest of knick knacks, and you can't swing a stick without hitting macrame. Each piece evokes a particular time period, but is in fact timeless. This is the quality I strive to capture within my work. A sense of familiarity juxtaposed with originality. Modern ceramics with a vintage vibe. My varied palette, painstakingly created through countless tests and trials, evokes the mid-century, but the tone and timbre of the colors keep the collection firmly planted in the now. The balance of this duality is intended to inspire a connection of the past and present, a subconscious link to memory with contemporary aesthetic.
