My artwork is always a reflection of the landscape around me. Nature's colors, shapes and light are the foundations of my work. My paintings have layers upon layers of paint as I try ideas in color and texture. I will rub off areas to expose ideas I want to enhance further. I also completely edit the entire painting and slowly wipe off or sand sections leaving new areas of interest to explore and build upon. These processes transform the pieces and provide the qualities of texture, color and light that allow me to complete my relationship with each painting.
