Harlan Whitman

One of a kind creations from a wide array of materials and processes is the everlasting goal. The endless availability of combinations of materials and manipulation of materials is all the inspiration I will ever need. Every time I get a piece of metal in my hands it is the beginning of an exploration of that piece of material. I challenge myself to bring often time a high level of functionality to my sculptures. Using old-timey techniques paired with high tech processes for a unique combination that feels like something made thousands of years ago by primitive peoples with the help of someone from the far future. If it is knives, furniture, or any other creation I will treat it as a sculpture.
