Through the expressive and formal language of painting, drawing, and materiality, my work explores the messy, imperfect, sometimes contradictory, always transitory and ultimately beautiful struggle to find the space between thoughts. A pursuit to catch a glimpse of the sublime in a flux of uncertainty.
Working on many pieces at any given time, I create layer upon layer of marks, searching for strength in their differences and looking for opportunities to simplify the convoluted and beautify the unpleasant—a constant back and forth between doubt and acceptance. Authenticity and serendipity are sought where mistakes are not hidden, rather they help reveal the path forward.
