My work consists of paintings with acrylic, oils or both on panels and stretched canvas. They are primarily geometric shapes inspired by my desire for order and structure in some part of my life. The paint is applied in what might be a dance between a very slow, organized and fast and loose partners in what I characterize as a "SPONTUITIVE" process. There is usually no particular place or object in mind. I love paint and all the possible ways of slathering and glopping this seductive medium around the pallet and painting surfaces. I want to be surprised with the results. I'm not interested in creating some preconceived idea or image. When the paintings really work these primarily geometric shapes feel alive, like they are still evolving.
