Give Yourself A DAY TO PAINT with Leslie Lee.

Lee2Whether you have never set a brush to canvas, or are an experienced painter wanting to explore, this day will be a gift to your Creative Self. This is not a class or workshop intended to teach technique but rather an opportunity for you to see how I approach my recent work and try it yourself.

Lee1We will be working with acrylics on 2 x 2′ wood panels, starting with random marks and “smooshes” and letting that lead to imagery. More info on this process here. Leslie’s process

 I will offer guidance and be painting along with the group.

  • Each session starts at 10, and wraps up around 4:30. Lunch will be provided and Dennis will join us with his perspectives on art making.
  • Sessions currently scheduled are:
    Sun. Aug 14 & Sat. Sept. 17
  • Limited to 4 participants per session.

Ben Will Gallery is hosting a Portland Open Studios Preview Show for the artists in Community 6, which includes nine artists selected by Portland Open Studios to represent Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta, South Tabor, Woodstock and Creston-Kenilworth neighborhoods.

This Preview Show will feature live music with artists in attendance from these areas to talk with you about their art process and the Portland Open Studios Tour on the 2nd & 3rd weekend in October. All art, prints, sculpture and ceramics by the artists will be for sale at Ben Will Gallery.

The artists in this exhibit are Cedar LeeNicole BereczkiShawn DemarestKelli MacConnellAlison O’Donoghue, Ben Will, Jill TorbersonVicki Wilson, and John Shlichta.
