Jeffrey Fuchs

Jeffrey Fuchs is a modern Abstract painter working with layers of color and bold marks to tell the stories of where he's been and what he's experienced. Jeff's work is recognized for its vibrancy and depth, with viewers making new discoveries each time they experience the paintings. Jeffrey's work begs to be observed over long periods of time, again and again, giving up its secrets slowly as the viewer's perspective changes.

Much of Jeffrey's work is inspired by his education and career as a civil engineer, currently focusing on developing drinking water sources and systems for communities in the Northwest United States. Observant viewers can see references to math, or bridges, or shimmering bodies of water that frequent Jeffrey's engineering mind. His work also often references his love for urban and natural landscapes, with bits of graffiti and urban night scenes working together with forests and deserts and trees. Jeffrey's work is influenced by many great past and current painters, especially Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning, Cecily Brown, Keith Haring, Cy Twombly, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Jeffrey is represented by Gallery 114 (Portland), Ryan James Fine Art (Kirkland, WA), and Riversea Gallery (Astoria).
