Karrie Amiton
I am a painter in Portland, Oregon. I studied art and architecture in college and began painting full time some years ago. I use acrylic, oil, ink, charcoal and also paint in reverse on glass. I have developed unique reverse painting techniques in order to create new and unusual effects. Paint seen through glass saturates color so the finished piece can be both mysterious and unexpected.
My intention is to have fun with abstracted landscape or any other subject for that matter. But even with good intentions and a plan, I really never know how it will turn out. The creative process is very interesting, exhilarating and at times frustrating.
