Charles Piatt has been a dedicated studio potter in the Portland area for over 50 years. As a charter member of both the Oregon Potter's Association and the Portland Saturday Market, he's also the founder and manager of Stark Street Studios and Gallery. His distinctive pottery can be found in restaurants, galleries, businesses and private collections.
"My work is rooted in the tradition of wheel thrown pottery, often subtly altered, where function and craftsmanship intertwine. I draw on a broad glaze palette, using layered color and wax resist to create rich, textured surfaces. Each piece is reduction-fired in a high-temperature gas kiln, resulting in unique vibrant forms built for everyday use." |
