Hanmi and Jim Meyer live and work in Portland, Oregon. They launched Space Cat Studios as a creative collective in 2019.
Hanmi's professional career has spanned many tracks including photography, music, and industrial design. For the past 8 years she has worked as the principal photographer/videographer at Bullseye Glass, creating educational content and acting as instructor or assistant for in-person and online classes. Her primary artistic medium is kiln-formed and stained glass.
Jim's background in computer science, math and music performance all contribute now to creative forms in woodworking. He builds custom works and furniture, teaches classes at the Guild of Oregon Woodworkers, and collaborates with Hanmi as Space Cat Studios.
Their works & commissions have been sold across the country to collectors of bespoke home goods.
"We strive to make our art useful and stylishly playful. Our pieces use ambient or internal light to interact with the space they inhabit. We work in the resilient, time tested materials of glass and wood to create heirloom quality objects that create joy in every day use." |
