Christian Téllez

Christian Téllez (WESI Murals) is a mural artist and designer originally from Puebla, Mexico, and based in the Pacific Northwest. With a background in architecture, his work explores the relationship between art, space, and community. Through large-scale murals and site-specific installations, Téllez transforms public and private environments into vibrant visual experiences that reflect cultural identity and local narratives. His projects often integrate natural elements, abstract forms, and architectural perspectives. Working under the name WESI Murals, he collaborates with communities, organizations, and institutions to create artwork that enhances the built environment while fostering connection, storytelling, and a sense of place.

"My work explores how art bridges interior and exterior spaces, transforming everyday environments into immersive visual experiences. I approach each project through an architectural lens, using composition, scale, and spatial awareness to shape how people experience a space. Inspiration comes from urban environments, cultural references, and nature, integrating biophilic and universal design principles to create inclusive visual narratives.

My process is based on exploration and experimentation, working with multiple visual styles and using unconventional or repurposed surfaces as canvases. Large-scale artworks allow me to connect architecture, nature, and culture through a unified visual language. Many projects are developed through collaboration and community engagement, where dialogue helps shape the final design. Drawing from street art traditions, each piece is tailored to its environment, responding to the stories, character, and needs of the people who interact with the space daily."
