Nancy Larson is a watercolor and acrylic painter living in the Cully neighborhood of Portland, Oregon whose work focuses on the abstracted landscape. She has a BA in studio art and spent a post graduate year at the Accademia di Belli Arti in Florence, Italy. She has exhibited in both solo and group shows in Oregon, California, and Washington.
"Painting in both acrylic and watercolor, my work is rooted in landscape yet not of any specific place. I am interested in the connection between place and memory and how bodies and brains hold significant experience, usually buried deep. An intuitive practice helps me to explore and flesh this out, producing work that lives somewhere between the familiar and the intangible, of everywhere and nowhere all at once." |
